Why choose FlatRate over any other company in New York City when you're looking to move home or office?

Well, for starters - as our name suggests - you'll be given a cost that won't increase as your move progresses (provided your inventory stays the same of course). You'll be provided with an easy-to-understand Move Plan which will detail every stage of your relocation so that you'll know exactly what's happening and when. We can always personalize this to suit your individual needs.

We strive for excellent customer services and always put our customer's needs first - just check out any of our reviews on sites such as Yelp! as you'll see that's exactly the case. You may also note that we have six locations in the biggest cities in the US, have an office in London, and association storage facilities in 160 outlets around the globe.

We complete more than 2,000 moves every month - which makes us one of the city's largest moving companies. That wouldn't be the case if we weren't capable of providing a top notch service. Most of our customers have been recommended by family and friends - a fact we're very proud of here at FlatRate.

Insurance coverage for your move

Option1: Minimum liability coverage. Your shipment is automatically covered by the Standard Movers' Minimum Liability Coverage of $.60 per pound per lost or damaged articles-at absolutely no extra charge.
Option 2: Extended valuation coverage. We offer valuation coverage of your shipment at $5 per $1,000 for intrastate moves ($13 per $1,000 for interstate moves) with a $500 deductible and a $10,000 minimum.

What isn't covered?

Loss or damage to jewelry, gemstones, cash, stamps, coins, or currency, bank notes, checks, travelers' checks, deeds, letters or valuable papers of any kind, coin or stamp collections, photo albums, scrapbooks, perishable items, firearms, ammunition, or contraband. Any internal electrical or mechanical component of any device unless external damages are duly noted in writing at the time of delivery. Loss of data and recalibration are also excluded. Damage to furniture made from pressed wood or particleboard. Loss or damage consisting of breakage of china, glassware, bottles, statuary, bric-a-brac, or items of a brittle nature unless the items have been packed by the carrier and are listed on the inventory (not if you've packed them yourself) Undamaged items to a pair or set where one or more items in the pair or set are lost or damaged. When moving into or out of storage

Storage

If your Move Plan is Option 1 above and you need storage, your items will be covered for 60 cents per pound.

For Option 2 the charge is $3 per $1,000 of your valuation for each month your items are in storage
