I Challenge Myself (ICM) bike race
FlatRate Moving and Storage was one of this year’s proud sponsors of the I Challenge Myself (ICM) bike race. ICM encourages students to not only act as leaders, but to also bring positive change to those around them. The non-profit recently restructured its Urban Bike Tours program with Cycling Smarts – a part of their Urban Youth Health Ambassadors program which assists in helping youth develop self-efficacy, active lifestyles, and achieve post-secondary success.
On June 5th the ICM race started in New York City, with over 75 Cycling Smarts students and volunteers cycling the 50 miles up to Carmel, NY via the Putnam Country Trail System. FlatRate Moving was there to assist the ICM coaches, volunteers, and students at the end of the race by providing a FlatRate truck to load all of the bikes into to bring back to the West Side High School Bronx Lab School and after a long day of riding.
Prospect Park Walk-A-Thon
Over 500 participants are expected to walk for the restoration of the park, which nine million people visit annually. FlatRate Moving ™ is sponsoring the event with The Prospect Park Alliance, the organization that cares for the park's natural environment, preserves historic design, and serves the public through facilities and programs.
Feeding NYC.
Come the holiday season, we join forces with Feeding NYC, an organization dedicated to serving Thanksgiving dinners to New Yorkers in need. As one of many players involved in making this mission a reality, we do our part by delivering the meals around the city. We’re proud to be part of a project that allows us to use our services to help others and bring a community closer together.
