FLATRATE’S UNIQUE PRICING SYSTEM

HOW IT WORKS

Most moving companies follow a basic formula to calculate your bill: number of men multiplied by number of hours to complete the move. With this system you end up paying for everything that does not go as planned. The street traffic and a busy elevator result in wasting valuable time, which you end up paying for. FlatRate is prepared for the unpredictable and offers a different method to calculate the price. Our all-inclusive rate is calculated by following a standardized pricing system that includes five factors:

1.   Volume
The size of your shipment – the amount of space that your belongings occupy in the truck, calculated in       cubic feet.

2.   A choice of Service Package
       •   Premium — wrapping, protection, materials, travel time and insurance.
       •   Economy — cheaper moving dates, recycled boxes, wrapping and protection.
       •   Elite — special packing and crating of antiques, fine art, wine collections, pianos, packing,
           unpacking and organizing

3.   Logistics
       •   Distance between the truck’s parking space and the access door.
       •   Building attributes — walk-up, elevator, & building entrance access.
       •   Door and hallway width and special requirements.

4.   Travel Distance and Conditions
Tolls, gas, driver’s time, the distance from origin to destination are all included in your price.
Unexpected circumstances, such as bad weather or traffic, are already taken into
consideration and will not cause any additional unexpected charges.

5.   Special Inventory
       •   Items that require disassembly and/or reassembly to enable their transport through doorways and
           hallways.
       •   Special handling of items or furniture that are oddly shaped or especially fragile and require
multiple layers of wrapping and protection.

The up-front and calculated price will change only in the case of inventory adjustment.
