FlatRate formula vs Hourly-base
Moving companies that charge by the hour don’t have to take a full itemized inventory list. Just by knowing the size of the apartment and approximately how much your moving they can tell you if they can do the job. As since they don’t have to give you a guaranteed price, they can just commit to it and you can pay for however long it takes. Given the price isn’t guaranteed many times if a lot of materials are required for your move they can pass these costs on to you. Same goes for travel expenses, such as tickets and tolls.

With Long Distance moves, we price them similar to as if you were moving down the block. Only difference being that the mileage makes up much more of the move cost. FlatRate formula vs Weight-based
Many long distance moving companies charge by how much what you are moving weighs. Additionally, the cost of an interstate or long distance move also depends on the mileage between the origin and destination, and the labor costs, moving dates, insurance etc. They will give you an initial price then once loaded will confirm the weight and charge you accordingly.
Pricing by weight does not bring you the best value for 2 reasons:
1. This way often leads to confusion and unexpected increase in cost because clients seldom know how much their items will collectively weigh.
2. It generally does not work in your favor. It works only if what you are moving is light. So if you furniture isn’t very heavy, than maybe you will be in luck.

- Lamps – Packed in lamp box.

- Floors – On moving day, we lay down masonite on arrival to protect floors from becoming scraped
All labor and travel expense included
With FlatRate labor & travel expenses are included in the price, freeing you from surprise costs during your move. The cost for moving labor is included into the price of your custom move plan as well as any travel related expenses such as tickets, tolls & fuel.
