My roommate and I were very very impressed with FlateRate movers. Moving (in New York City especially) can be a very stressful and terrible experience, but the experience at FlatRate was beyond amazing. Will definitely be recommending and using them in the future!

Only comment is that we did full packing and while it was generally good, the packers seemed to mix random items together (like kitchen stuff with other stuff). While these items were in close proximity to each other I wish they had separated kitchen items from other things. I found a bucket for cleaning the floor next to a kitchen item in one box.. yuck. I had to shift my moving date at the last minute due to a block party; you all were able to help problem solve quickly. The movers were prompt, efficient and focused. The foreman in particular was a superstar. He managed to soothe the nerves of a highly territorial grandma landlord while hoisting a sofa up three flights. Can't thank you enough.

It was raining buckets the morning of our move, but the movers did an incredible job timing the moving of furniture and boxes so almost nothing got wet. The movers were polite, friendly, helpful, and professional. There were a few "dings" on our walls when I looked after they left, but the furniture they were moving was extremely bulky, and our hallways are very narrow. Overall, an excellent experience.

There was one glitch - the time estimated for moving out exceeded the time reserved for the moving out building's elevator. The elevator was reserved from 9-12 but approx one hour more was needed. Should adjust arrival time Luckily the next reserver showed up late
